Our Kaiārahi program is designed to connect elders with youth and youth with employers and employers with support, to create relationships that build sustainable futures for our most vulnerable rangatahi (young people).
This is multi pronged program that values young people and their well being first & foremost. The best gift we can give our children is self respect and healthy self-esteem. Only then can they value themselves and respect others.
By building relationships based on trust and developing the emotional, mental, social and physical toolkits that they can take into their lives, our young people can hope and dream for a better future. Partnering with healthy peers and elders in a supportive community network, our rangatahi can be empowered to thrive, contribute and connect respectfully within our communities.
Developing programs to support healthy employer/employee relationships will open the doors to more local, sustainable employment opportunities. This is another prong of our Kaiārahi strategy for supporting youth to thrive.
