kiwiMANA- Taitamariki Ora Coordinator
Location: Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, New Zealand (Hybrid/On-site, requiring local travel)
Employment Type: Part-time (25-35 hours per week negotiable)
Salary: $50-60,000 Depending on Hours and Qualifications
About the Role:
Are you a passionate and culturally responsive advocate for youth well-being? Bald Angels Charitable Trust is seeking a dedicated kiwiMANA Taitamariki Ora Angel to join our team in the beautiful Bay of Islands.
This vital Coordinator-Navigator role will strengthen our existing kiwiMANA Kaiārahi programme. You will be instrumental in connecting diverse and vulnerable taitamariki (children & youth) and their whānau (families) to community resources, empowering them to achieve well-being and self-sufficiency.
You’ll have the opportunity to co-design impactful youth programmes, support strong mentor-mentee relationships, and champion cultural values to foster holistic well-being. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Program Co-Design & Delivery: Develop and refine youth programs, support robust emotional toolkits, and build mentor networks.
- Navigation & Advocacy: Guide taitamariki and whānau to support networks, advocating for their needs throughout their journey.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong connections with mentors, community providers, and stakeholders.
- Cultural Responsiveness: Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, Te Ao values, and advocate for taitamariki regardless of their background or identity.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Track progress, identify successes and barriers, and contribute to continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualifications and/or experience in social work, youth services, or counselling.
- A strong understanding of Te Ao Māori and a genuine commitment to integrating Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles into practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to achieve measurable outcomes and strong organisational skills.
- A proactive team player with a flexible approach and a high degree of empathy and integrity.
- Commitment to child protection and high standards of care.
