My business – Your business – The universe’s business.- Deep belly breathing.
- Mindful walking. Games, connection and great kai.
- Setting intentions. Aspirations.
We met Brady and Krissie from Taiora and The Kindness Institute at an NZ Youth Mentor Networking session, and partnering with them has been a twisty-turny ride, as we were first scuppered by the March floods, then by venue double-bookings, illnesses and logistical challenges. But what an absolute pleasure it has been to navigate the bumps with such a delightfully calm and grounded team, along with the usual beautiful hospitality from our Hokianga Angels.
It was a kiwiMANA weekend of whanaungatanga (connection) and mauri tau – restoring our energy and spirit. Both rangatahi (youth) and pakeke (adults) shared this weekend workshop opportunity, and we were privileged and honoured to get to know these amazing humans. We came from Tamaki Makaurau, Te Kao, Kaikohe, Kerikeri and Hokianga. We identified as neurodiverse and neuro-normative; trans, straight, addicts and recovered addicts; kuia, tane, wāhine, parents, grandparents, rangatahi, Māori, Tongan, American, Dutch, and all just beautiful humans.
We all left with full hearts & tools to practice emotional regulation, mindful communication and self-care.
We are so grateful for the funding from various sources that allowed us to share this experience – special thanks and mihi to Brady and Kristina from Taiora and The Kindness Institute.
